 Cortona is a 25min drive away from the Farmhouse: a charming hilltop town in Tuscany, rich in Etruscan history and offering breathtaking views of the Val di Chiana. Its medieval streets are lined with artisan shops, cozy cafés, and historic landmarks like the Palazzo Comunale and the Basilica of Santa Margherita.  A 40-minute drive from Cortona, Montepulciano is a picturesque hilltop town renowned for its Renaissance architecture and the esteemed Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wine.  A 90min drive north from Cortona, Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance, offering an abundance of art, history, and culture. Highlights include the Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo's David, and the iconic Florence Cathedral with its remarkable dome.  

 Approximately an hour away, Pienza is celebrated as the "Ideal City of the Renaissance," reflecting the vision of Pope Pius II. Its harmonious architecture and layout make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering visitors a unique glimpse into Renaissance urban planning.  

 Just over an hour's drive, Perugia is a vibrant hilltop city known for its medieval architecture and as the home of the famous Perugina chocolate. The city hosts the annual Umbria Jazz Festival and offers rich cultural experiences. 

 Approximately an hour and a half away, Assisi is the birthplace of St. Francis and features the Basilica of San Francesco, adorned with frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue. The town's serene ambiance and spiritual significance make it a profound destination.

The city is famous for the frescoes by Piero della Francesca in the Basilica of San Francesco, as well as its stunning Piazza Grande, which hosts the famous Giostra del Saracino, a medieval jousting tournament. With its charming streets, antique markets, and Etruscan heritage, Arezzo offers an authentic and less crowded Tuscan experience. 

  About an hour from Cortona, Montalcino is a charming medieval hilltop town famed for its Brunello di Montalcino wine. Visitors can explore the imposing 14th-century fortress, which offers stunning panoramic views, and stroll through the historic center filled with artisan shops and wine cellars. The nearby Abbey of Sant’Antimo, a Romanesque masterpiece, is a must-visit for its serene atmosphere and Gregorian chants.  

 Just a 50-minute drive from Cortona, Città di Castello is a hidden gem in Umbria known for its Renaissance and medieval heritage. The town boasts impressive landmarks like the Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera, home to the Burri Collection of contemporary art, and the stunning Cathedral of Saints Florido and Amanzio.
